Inspired by the ornate fashion of the Victorian era, the Ellen features layered tulle ruffles and a tulle bib with ornate beadwork, which is achieved with a traditional Aari technique and shimmering glass beads. Crafted in Italy, this floor-sweeping dress is made from a special satin fabrication printed with the season's lilac motif, which was first hand-painted in-house by Ralph Lauren artists, then reproduced as a print in a renowned Como, Italy, mill. To achieve the fabric's watercolour effect, this style undergoes two different printing techniques: first traditionally printed, then with a devoré technique, which dissolves the viscose yarns to leave a slightly transparent silk base. A backless halter silhouette and a subtle train at the skirt complete this breathtaking sleeveless style.
