RL x Naiomi Glasses Rena Throw Pillow

Ralph Lauren Home proudly presents the debut collection from our Artist in Residence programme, reflecting an evolved design approach with the artisans and communities that inspire us. This special collaboration with siblings Naiomi Glasses and Tyler Glasses – both seventh-generation Diné (Navajo) weavers – honours Navajo heritage and centuries-old traditions. It includes fabrics, floor coverings, textiles and decorative accessories inspired by the beauty of their homelands on Dinetah (Navajo Nation) and the weaving practice they learned from their late grandmother, the notable artist Nellie Glasses. Using cuts of wool-and-cotton fabric from the collection's bed blanket, Naiomi designed this throw pillow with subtle variegated stripes – a nod to the rock formations on Navajo Nation, including the landscape that can be seen from her family's home. It features a Spider Woman cross – a symbol representing the creator and teacher of the weaving tradition in Navajo culture, as well as a four-directional cross, which, together with the number four, carries great significance in Navajo tradition as well as in other Native communities. It references the Earth's four directions.
